One universal build works on every Mac — both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel. No need to check which you have.

Open the downloaded .dmg and drag Virtual Cat into your Applications folder.

The first time, right-click the app → Open → Open. (macOS shows this for apps outside the App Store — you only do it once.)

Your cat lives in the menu bar (top-right), as a little paw icon. There's no Dock icon.
⚠️ If macOS says “Virtual Cat is damaged and can't be opened”: click Cancel, then:
Press ⌘ + Space to open Spotlight search, type Terminal, and open it.
Paste the line below and press Return:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Virtual Cat.app"
It prints nothing when it succeeds — silence means it worked. Now open the app normally.
3 · Install on Windows

Run the downloaded Setup .exe.

If Windows shows “Windows protected your PC”, click More info → Run anyway. (This appears for new apps — it's safe, and you only do it once.)

Your cat appears on your desktop; controls live in the system tray (bottom-right, near the clock) as a paw icon.
4 · Activate

Click the paw in the menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows) → Activate…

Paste the code from your email (looks like VPET-XXXX-XXXX) and click Activate.

Done! One code activates up to 3 of your own computers, in any mix of Macs and PCs.
